Finding Steady in the Storm

A self-paced guided journal for new and expecting parents living with anxiety.

You love your baby. And your mind won’t stop.

The what-ifs at 2am. The checking. The bracing for something to go wrong even when everything is fine. Nobody warned you that becoming a parent could make your brain this loud.

This journal was made for exactly that. Not to fix you, because you’re not broken. To help you find your footing while everything is shifting.

Who this is for

You’re pregnant or in the first years of parenting and anxiety has moved in with you.

You keep hearing “just enjoy this time” and want to scream.

Therapy feels out of reach right now, whether that’s time, cost, or a waitlist.

You want something real, not a bullet-point listicle or a meditation app you’ll delete in a week.

What’s inside

Six modules you can do in any order, at any hour, in whatever ten-minute windows your life allows. Each one moves through four gentle steps: something to understand, something to notice, something to try, and something to carry with you after you close it.

Module 1 — Understanding Perinatal Anxiety

Module 2 — Your Nervous System Isn’t Broken

Module 3 — The Weight of Being a “Good Parent”

Module 4 — When You’re Spiraling at 3 A.M.

Module 5 — Rewriting the Story Anxiety Is Telling You

Module 6 — You Weren’t Meant to Carry This Alone

Why it’s a journal and not a video course

Because you’re exhausted. You don’t need another thing to watch with the volume off while the baby sleeps on you. You need something you can pick up at 3am or 3pm, read for five minutes, write two honest sentences in, and put down without losing your place. Text is not the budget version. For this season of life, it’s the better one.

About me

I’m Michelle Metz, a licensed clinical social worker with a perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C). I’ve spent my career working with new and expecting parents. I’m also a mom. I know this territory from both chairs.

Everything in this journal is what I actually do with clients, adapted so you can work through it on your own.

Price and what you get

A gentle note

This journal is education and support, not therapy, and it’s not a substitute for working with a licensed professional. If your anxiety feels bigger than a journal, that’s important information, and reaching out for one-on-one care is a strong move, not a failure. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988.
